Dubai continues to strengthen its position as a global leader in transport innovation with the announcement of the Dubai Loop Project by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). The new underground network is designed to improve mobility across key districts and support the city’s long term growth plans.
The Dubai Loop Project introduces a high speed underground transport system that will connect major commercial and residential destinations. The initiative reflects Dubai’s ongoing commitment to sustainable development, smart infrastructure, and efficient urban planning.
Project Overview
The project will begin with a 6.4 kilometre pilot route. Upon full completion, the network is expected to extend to approximately 22 kilometres and will include up to 19 stations across the city. The system aims to reduce travel time between major hubs and offer a reliable alternative to surface transport.
This underground network is expected to enhance connectivity in central Dubai, improve traffic flow, and support economic activity in key business districts.
Announced Stations
Four stations have been confirmed in the initial phase:
- ICD Brookfield Place
- DIFC 2
- Burj Khalifa
- Zabeel Dubai Mall Parking
These locations were selected to serve high demand areas that attract residents, professionals, and visitors daily.
Strategic Impact
The Dubai Loop Project supports the city’s long term vision to build a smart and connected urban environment. By expanding underground transport infrastructure, Dubai aims to improve commuter experience, reduce congestion, and promote sustainable mobility solutions.
Further technical details, construction timelines, and operational plans are expected to be shared in the coming months.
We will continue to provide updates as the project progresses and more information becomes available
